Dropped from ROTC without reason

Hello there,

I wanted to share an experience I had with AFROTC. The detachment at my university underwent some major changes after a whole new cadre swept in. Me and about 10 others (or so I heard from a POC on the "inside") were dropped, and for some... without a reason why. There was talk that the Air Force had reached it's target for commissioning officers, but didn't think this would happen. After being removed, I wrote a personal statement and asked a few of the people that evaluated me to vouche for me and write a personal statement to the commander themselves. But neither of these things worked.

I was part of Color Guard (nominated to be Color Guard commander) by the current CGC, I was on multiple staffs within the detachment (Public Affairs staff, DET Maintenance staff) just extra stuff to do around the DET, I have a 3.75 GPA, all of my PFA scores were above a 95% both semesters I was in AFROTC, the cadre last semester recognized me for perfect attendance. I had perfect attendance this semester according to my flight commanders, but was not recognized for it. I got word from a POC that I was ranked 7 out of 16 in my flight, which isn't too bad. They elaborate on why the cadet is ranked that way as well, but mine didn't say much... basically that I was a good wingman and that I do extra stuff around the DET (they didn't mention anything about my leadership skills). One thing they might have dropped me for was my AFOQT scores, I fell short on the qualitative portion, but was planning on using the super-score method to pass on my second attempt.

I have already gotten into contact with an OTS recruiter, should I plan on explaining this to him? Do you guys think explaining this will better my chances at getting into OTS?

I would recommend addressing it with the recruiter. He has an incentive to make it work for you if possible, and he will know what the important factors may be.

I highly even doubt the Air Force has met its goal for commissioning because recently after much rework of the entire Air Force they need more personal especially with rising tensions.
