I will be starting Army ROTC as a college freshmen next year and I am currently considering taking a dual enrollment class during my last semester of high school. Would my grade from the dual enrollment class affect my cumulative college GPA used in AROTC accessions/ranking?

Also, if I am awarded credit at the university I go to for AP scores/classes, would these affect my college GPA at all?

Thanks so much

Probably not. Most schools do not use or show grades for classes that are transferred in or from AP scores. They just show up on your transcript as ungraded credits (not to be confused with pass/fail courses) and they are not used to calculate your college GPA.

You should confirm with the schools that you are applying to that they will accept the dual enrollment credits. If they do it would be a great jump start to schools and you can probably eliminate having to take some distribution requirements. AP credits helped my daughter graduate college in 3 1/2 years and my son has all of his non engineering distribution requirements satisfied.
