EA Questions

Tom Petty appears to have been right: The waiting is the hardest part. @takedown34, I think only Objee could answer your question with accuracy. Looking at the 2025 and 2026 appointment threads I found that there was an increase of appointments between the second to last Friday, and the final Friday of the EA cycle. For 2025 there were 32 appointments listed as of 12/11 and 41 listed as of 12/23. (This isn't Friday to Friday, but Christmas landed on Friday that year.) For 2026 there were 25 appointments listed on 12/17 and 28 listed on 12/24. I don't put too much credence in the raw numbers, as it's largely dependent on who is lurking here and willing to post their appointment info, but it does at least show that there were non-rejections on the final day. Looking at past EA result posts from Objee, there are about 190 appointments tendered in EA, plus about 40 CGAS appointments tendered. So to me it looks like there's plenty of room for hope.
The Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board completed its review of all Early Action applicants to our Class of 2027 on Friday and Admissions Committee just concluded about an hour ago, so all pending decisions will be briefed to the Superintendent tomorrow and then released. We have been releasing decision letters every Friday evening since November 18th and each batch has included Class of 2027 appointments, Coast Guard Academy Scholar (CGAS) Program appointments, and denials...the final batch of letters being released tomorrow evening will again include all of those decision types plus offers to be reevaluated in Regular Admission. The total number of Early Action applications increased 24% compared to the Class of 2026, was the highest number received in over a decade, and could be the highest number received since we began offering an Early Action review. We appreciate your patience as we thoughtfully read all those records and made some very difficult decisions. Please contact your Admissions Officer via e-mail if you have not received a decision letter by Saturday, December 24th, and hope you have a wonderful holiday break!

How will we get the result notification? Email, call, or bears den?
At this point if you haven't gotten a call, I think it will more than likely be only in Bears Den. Phone calls and emails are more of a courtesy when there's more time. Since tomorrow is the notification deadline, I'm sure the heat is on to get all the official letters pushed out to Bears Den.

Is this still accurate?

Is there some aspect of his post that you wondering might have changed dramatically in the last 24 hours?

My daughter had a notice of waitlisted and we are so Happy!
After the seeing how many applied she was scared it would be a “good luck somewhere else!” They want her to retake her fitness to improve and she has worked and worked on that so that’s good news for her! Now to do what is asked and wait!

Waitlisted? or deferred to regular decision? Only asking because in the past several years they have not waitlisted anyone from EA. Perhaps they changed this year.

Daughter was deferred and within her notice it stated the following
This is not a waitlist offer

My DS was deferred. He’s happy to be still be in it and work to get “his” spot in the CGA! I can already see the “fire” in his eyes.
