This certainly isn't a bad question to have to ask, but can anyone explain why DD was offered an appointment to NAPS in mid December? She isn't a division 1 athlete, and most post I read seem to indicate that those are the ones who receive the earliest offers. We asked her BGO and he the only answer he gave was to "grab it!", which she had already done about ten minutes after receiving the appointment! Just seems a lot earlier than the the March/April norm. Thanks for any insight!

Good question. Were your MoC nominations already released at that point? If so, did she secure one of them? That is a great offer though, congratulations. We are still waiting to hear something. My DS did get three nominations, but all to the USAFA. So, his only chance for USNA is through NAPS. We are hoping an offer is extended but the odds are not looking good.

Yes they were, she had obtained three, and thank you! Hope your DS is a classmate!

My guess is they determined that she was not 3Q on the scholastic portion and liked her total package and with a little brush up at NAPS she would be ready for USNA. That is purely speculation.
Our best guess as well
