I take classes through my high school that count as college credit from the University of Connecticut. I’ve heard that I cannot get credit for those classes at an SA but will I be able to take higher level classes because of these classes? If so, how would I go about getting my early college courses counted to take the higher level classes?

First, if not admitted yet..I would focus on getting admitted. During Plebe Summer, you will take placement tests to determine where you are placed in the curriculum. Validating core curriculum courses will give you the opportunity to start on your major earlier, and open the door to higher level courses, even post grad work at neighboring universities. However, it is also a double edged sword -- there are a number of threads hear debating the pros and cons of getting in too deep your Plebe year. Good luck.

Yes and no. USNA uses a process called validation. Make sure you thoroughly review the USNA admissions page as it’s a wealth of information. Essentially USNA relies on a variety of factors for what level students are placed. For the most part just taking a college level course doesn’t really do much for being placed in the next level at USNA. Often times validation exams are used and other times AP scores are used or a mix of the two. Below is the policy and there is a chart that shows how someone can validate a course and move on to the next level.
