I received an email on Monday telling me that my NROTC MO Scholarship package was presented last week at the early board, and that the results would be released in the next few weeks via email. However, I have seen on this forum that the early board was delayed. Were all of them delayed? Because the email I got suggests that this board was even earlier than I thought it would be. Has anyone else heard that their application was already presented at the early board?

DS got a similar email - perhaps the delayed first board info applies to some, but not all of, the districts.

As discussed previously, the MO Boards are held individually by the 6 Marine Corps Districts, so it is possible for some districts to meet and issue results before another district. If you received an email stating your package was presented, then I think its safe to assume your District's Board met.

Good luck.

Would you please tell us what district you are in?

I am in the 4th district. Now when I log in online it says ....Application has been submitted online ....Your application is board ready and pending a decision....Your application is at the Marine Corps District for board selection...,which has also changed since I received that email.

My DS board is next week. His recruiting officer just requested a handwritten note listing all of his other avenues he is pursuing for a commission. Is that normal? I am not sure why they would care.

Yes it must be normal. My XO did the same thing.

They are gauging overall interest in service by the number of paths you are pursuing.

I am note sure it is "normal" but I agree with @Torero_dad that they are gauging interest in military service. My DS was never asked (at least like this)

Personally, I don't agree with that approach but that means very little. ;)

Additionally, I think it's beneficial prep to have an answer that demonstrates commitment without boiling the ocean. You may prefer one service over the other and valid reasons. Just have those packaged in 25 second sound bit that lays out recognition of the options and discernment.

Don't think they want you to apply to places you would not enjoy, but these applications are uncertain. So they are testing interest, asking a probing question to get a response data point, and frankly doing some education.
