Hi, I am a high school senior applying for an Army ROTC Scholarship.

I finished my application last week (now "Board Ready" status) in time for the Document Submission Deadline for the 1st Board (Oct. 7th). However, I am considering switching my schools listed as #1 and #2. If I did this now, would it actually change or is it already locked in place for the 1st board? If I can edit, can I continue to do this up until the board meets? I'm also a bit scared that if I edit anything now my file won't be reviewed until the 2nd board, any chance this will happen?

Also, does anyone know how likely it is to receive a 4-year to the #1 school but not #2 school? Costs of tuition are almost the same, I've met with and been in contact with the ROOs at both, and the schools are similarly ranked (according to US News & WR). I will probably be admitted to #1 and will definitely be admitted to #2, but I had my ROTC interview at #1.

Thank you so much for your time.

Okay, so I will do my best to answer you. If you can edit the college choices go ahead, it will not change whether or not you are boarded, there is nothing to be approved on a college choice. If it is the same as last year, then after you are boarded if you do not receive a schoalrship, you might also be able to email cadet command and have your schools changed.

With Army ROTC , you will be made one offer, a 4 year or a 3 year. You will then be given a list of 1 to 3 schools and have 30 days to decide. If you are awarded a scholarship the top 3 schools will automatically be looked at, and if there is a scholarship spot left, then you will be made an offer there. Meaning ot doesn't matter if it is listed 1st or 2nd. And the cost of tuition is also not a factor. If one or more of those schools do not have a spot, then they will move to your 4th and so on. My daughter was offered her 1st, 3rd and 4th.
