Email update on SLE 2020

Dear SLE 2020 Participants,

Good morning. If you are receiving this email I am tracking you as either offered admissions to SLE 2020, Accepted-in-Progress for SLE 2020, or Accepted to attend SLE 2020. I just wanted to let you know that given the current COVID-19 situation, the status of SLE is still up in the air. As of now, the sessions are still a go for May 30th thru June 12th, but that could change. Right now, the change could mean a shift of the sessions to later in the Summer, or a complete cancellation of the 2020 program. I expect to receive updated guidance by April 15th, but if I hear sooner, I will immediately update you. In the unfortunate event that SLE is cancelled, you can expect to receive a refund of your fee. The refund would also apply if the session dates shift and you could no longer attend. Again, we are not there yet, but I just wanted to address a frequent question. Please let me know if you have any other questions. the Dear SLE 2020 Applicant,

Good morning. If you are receiving this email I am tracking you as still in a “Pending” status for participation in SLE 2020. I know in previous communications, I indicated I would have all decisions to applicants by the first week of April. However, given the current issues surrounding the COVID-19 virus, I have temporarily suspended extending new offers until I receive a determination from my leadership on the status the SLE program for this Summer. I expect to receive a determination by April 15th. If we decide to execute the program (either on the current timeline or later in the Summer) I will resume extending offers. If it is determined that we cannot execute the program, I will immediately let you know. In the event I do resume extending offers, I will do my best to have offer emails out by May 1st. During this time, I continue to make determinations on applicants who will not be selected for participation in SLE 2020. This is to ensure I give those applicants the maximum amount of flexibility to participate in other Summer programs. Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions.
