Hello Everyone,

I'm aware that you're supposed to mail a physical copy of your presidential nomination application to USNA; however, after reviewing USNA's website and thread posts, I'm still curious whether I should email it in as well.

I'd appreciate any insight and clarification and what email to send it to if recommended to email it in too.

Thanks.

Do what is asked for. If you have filled out the info correctly and included the required supporting information, you will be eligible for the nom and will get the nom, as all who are eligible will be given it.

It will eventually show up in your portal. It’s early in the cycle, and Admissions just wrapped up getting 2027 in the door. Give it a generous 45 days or so. If you don’t see it, pop up in the live chat via the widget on the Admissions page, or email/call your assigned Admissions counselor. Have your candidate number handy.

There are thousands of pieces of data flowing to Admissions from thousands of applicants. There are not thousands of Admissions staff or even hundreds. They will get it, see it in their view, and it should eventually show up in the candidate-facing portal.

This is a marathon, not a sprint. The updates from mailing, emailing or uploading application elements will likely not be instantaneously seen in the portal.

It is also highly likely they want to see any original supporting documents that are on command letterhead with original signature, etc., not a scanned electronic copy sent via email.

Please reassure us you are also applying to all other nom sources you are eligible for, as the SAs recommend you to do.

I didn’t see an email address, so I just made a copy for myself and will mail it. I’d just mail it and wait a bit. You can always email them in a few weeks to see if they got it if you don’t get a notification in your portal.

Yes, you mail it in. I was at Admissions the other day and handed them the paperwork. I asked quite a few questions and basically, if you have questions they want your candidate to call their regional advisor. The advisor is listed in one of the drop downs in the portal. Do not rely on information on this forum. Many folks mean well but don't have the correct information. I asked about the new portal as I have had two Mids in the past and their portals were much different. Admissions said this is a brand new portal and there are glitches. I asked about how do you know if a recommendation, CFA results or transcript has been received. They said call the advisor and they can tell you. My DS had some received but they didn't show up in his portal. You can't call too much. Also, DODMERB is a nightmare. They are responsible for all service academies, ROTC and other military avenues. They are beyond backed up. So you may not get an appointment for the physical until next Spring. YES! I said next Spring. Admissions knows DODMERB is backed up. If Admissions wants the candidate they will get an LOA and just wait for the DODMERB results. I can't stress enough to call the Regional Advisor for questions. Hope this helps. Mail in your paperwork and then call in about a month to see if the NOM is received. Beat Army and stay positive!
