enisted submariner questions

Maybe he didn't set himself up with the right expectation. Going directly from the fleet you get a second Bootcamp during Plebe Summer. Going via NAPS, well, you get 3 bootcamps total (you get to drive your own vehicle at NAPS, then lose that privilege as a Plebe).

That's what happened to his roommate, I believe. Went to NAPS first.

An MM3 I know out here in Japan just got in, hopefully me and my Lcpl friend are next!

@Firehawk1, not sure where you get the info. They have 65 total prior enlisted Sailors (not counting Marines) according to the 2020 Class Portrait. Some go straight to Annapolis while others go to NAPS first.

(Under Military Background.)
If you click on the "military background" tab in the following link: https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/classPortrait/ the statement clarifies that 25 were from the fleet, 20 Navy and 5 USMC. The rest are NAPS guys/gals. Because CTNope is a Navy fleet guy, I thought I would provide numbers relative to his situation. I guess he could get selected for NAPS and then appointed into the class of 2022 as part of the larger number you stated. I wish all prior enlisted the best of luck.

Nope. Lance Corporal is stuck. That rank is terminal. You can never leave. Yeah. It's like that. The Hotel California of ranks. Wait, 29 Palms is Hotel California.

LOL, good old 29 stumps. Glad I'm not stationed there.

My cousin is currently stationed somewhere in Arizona...Hotel California is a good analogy.
