This forum inspires me with all the awesome parents. Perhaps some jealousy too given how I grew up, but ultimately a lot of inspiration. :)
This forum inspires me with all of those who selflessly served (like @USNA_STEM_Prof, and @Capt MJ among many others) and are now giving back to multiple generations of cadets and mids.

Don’t ever be too proud of your work. When you think the job is done … let it sit over night, rework it the next morning, and repeat this pattern for several or more days.

And it sometimes pays (not always) to “grab the reader’s attention” in your opening sentence … for example …

“ Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice. … “

Ha! Sometimes takes me two or three days to write an email! I concur with the "let it marinate" approach!
