Hello, I wanted to know if anybody can provide me with information as to the events taking place at CGA. I believe that Parents' Weekend is an event that parents come to CGA and tour the campus. However, is Cadet Admin Processing another day where parents come and can visit their son/daughter? I know that West Point has A-day where they have a parade in August and I wanted to know if CGA has a similar event that's taking place in August. Thanks!

CAP is not a public event, it's just the time when cadets have returned to the academy and prepare for the upcoming year.
Official List of Important Academy Dates
The only "events" that are noteworthy for incoming swab parents are:
At Mystic, you'll get a hour or so in the morning to visit with your swab at the Mystic Seaport, then about 6 hours of liberty in the afternoon where swabs are free to leave the CGA to go to lunch, shopping, catch a movie, or just head to a hotel room and sleep.
No liberty at the Shoulder Board ceremony, not worth travelling for unless you are close by, short ceremony where the swabs get their 4/c boards.

- Secretaries Cup Football Game - 08 September

Of all of the events.... Parents' Weekend is the most rewarding. For you and your swab (or for you and your parents)
Eagle Chasing
Another possible chance to see your Swab would be during their week on Eagle. We really enjoyed "chasing" Eagle during my daughter's Swab Summer. Since she was in Alfa, she missed Mystic, but we chased her bus to Rockland, Maine and were able to spend an afternoon & evening, and some of the following morning with her and some of her new friends (plus, got a personal tour of Eagle).
I agree with LITS though, if you can only make one event, Parents Weekend is the one to go to. You can go to classes with your cadet on Friday (and if you are there, your Swab doesn't have to "bus" to class with other Swabs - a big bonus). Then, on Saturday, they eventually get liberty and the chance to spend the night away from Chase Hall (make sure you get a room with an extra bed).
