I got my acceptance letter on my USAFA portal this morning. Does anyone have an exercise plan to recommend for the weeks leading up to BCT? Is there one that the academy puts out?
I skimmed through the appointee kit briefly, so sorry if I am asking for an obvious answer. Planning on going back through when I can.

"Prepare for the Altitude at the Academy Due to the Academy’s high elevation — 7,258 feet above sea level — your endurance will be diminished. Incoming cadets often discover that they cannot run as fast or as far as they did before they arrived. Adjustment to conditions at the Academy is much easier if you have achieved an extremely high level of physical fitness (especially cardiovascular fitness) before you arrive. The Academy’s primary measure of aerobic fitness is the 1.5 mile run. Current cadets run 1.5 miles in 10:18 on average. No matter where you train, you can use the 1.5 mile run to predict how altitudes at the Academy will impact you, and how your fitness is likely to compare with other cadets.
Predicting Your Performance
First determine your current average 1.5 mile run time. Add 48 seconds to your average to adjust for altitude. Then, compare your altitude-adjusted average to the cadet average. Improvements made to your run time at your current elevation will also improve your altitude-adjusted performance. Just keep the altitude in mind, and train hard."

Do not underestimate the altitude! Get in the best aerobic shape you can.

At this level 7258 is correct. Get into great shape. I can run a 1.5 mile in 9 mins which puts me in a good spot. Remember altitude while change everything so if you want to feel good your cardiovascular system has to be efficient. However, if you are crazy athlete already dont overdo it. Some of the best high-performance athletes with great cardiovascular systems suffer at high altitude because while they may be efficient they only know one speed ... 100%. This while nice does not always work in high-altitude and you will tire out really quickly. If you ever do a 5-mile run or more your going to have to dial it back a little more than your used to the complete it. This is nothing bad because everyone has to until the body can properly adjust to the elevation. Be smart and train hard.

Don't overthink this! Run! Run more! Run faster! While you're not running do flutter kicks and push ups. A lot! Everyday!
