So I'm a Junior in high school and I am currently registering for the SAT and the ACT. I have been tested and I do not have ADD/ADHD or anything of the like; however I apparently qualify to get 1.5 extended time on the majority of tests at my high school. My testing results show that I have above average mental processing speeds, but yet I was still given the extra time label for the SAT. I have extended time on the SAT, but not on the ACT. I heard that while the service academies can not tell which scores are from extended time or not, I can be disqualified in the medical review. Without further clarification, right now my plan is to take the SAT with extended time so that I can send those scores to civilian colleges and for my nomination, but I will use normal time ACT scores for the service academy applications.
I guess my question is can I really get disqualified for minor extended time without any kind of definitive medical reasoning? To my knowledge my school and medical records would give no information stating that I get extended time, however I was told that they would still find out. I am not trying to hide anything from the medical board, but I am trying to figure out the best way to go about dealing with this issue.
