Extracurricular Verification

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if any current or former cadets could inform me on how the extracurricular verification process works.

I know my guidance counselor has to confirm all the activities I have done in my high school career and then send the documentation off to West Point; however along with my guidance counselor's confirmation, do I have to get a signature or some sort of verification from each advisor in charge of every single school club, volunteer activity, sports, that I have participated in throughout high school? Thanks!

Also-to further add to the OP question-if some of the activities are not school related (IE travel sports VS highschool sports) who validates those?

When your portal opens, you fill out the Candidate Activity Record. This can be filled with anything and is verified by someone (I.E. guidance counselor). It can be non school related. For example, I had miscellaneous volunteer activities outside school that was on my CAR initially.

Once it is verified, you can e-mail updates and have someone else verify it. For example, I had my school athletic director e-mail my varsity letter update. For Civil Air Patrol, my squadron commander e-mailed my promotion.

So essentially you can have your guidance counselor verify everything at first, then further updates are verified by a related contact.
