Hi, I am wondering if someone could recommend an eye doctor in the north Chicago area that would do a similar eye exam to what the service academies will do? Specifically around color blindness. Thank you.

I had my DODMERB Eye Exam done at SoLo Eye Care in University Village by UIC. My doctor had a book with numbers inside of circles no different than what you can find online. You can't "learn" to not be colorblind if you are --- go to the appointment and if you need a waiver so be it, but you can't try to circumvent a problem if you have one.

Thanks for the advice. I am wondering if that is the same "test" (the pictures in a book) given by the military doctors? My eye doctor tested my color blindness the same way, but I am just wanting an exam that closely simulates what I will be given by the service academy. Specifcally trying to understand if I have a "mild" or "severe" color blindness.
