The Empire State VI left Fort Schuyler this week for Summer cruise- amongst the ports they will be visiting are New Orleans, Alicante, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Palermo, Italy; and Liverpool, United Kingtom- not a bad way to spend your summer!!
If you are interested in the sea as a possible career- either as a civilian mariner or in the Navy or Coast Guard- or as an Engineer ashore -then you really should be taking a hard look at the state Maritime Colleges. Their graduates are employed afloat and ashore with some of the highest rates of well-paying post graduation jobs, and they have opportunities for hands on training aboard ship that are hard to match.
