Sweet! I just accepted the scholarship to MMI. I was gonna do NWP but I didn't want to have to live back home for a semester. Good luck
I might possibly take the Northwestern prep school because I am in Cali and go to a community college the second semester.
You won't regret the decision!I might possibly take the Northwestern prep school because I am in Cali and go to a community college the second semester.
I think it's 2-3 weeks after they offer it so mine was due april 14th@Jled16 & @Princepuffy What deadline did they give you to accept or decline the Falcon scholarship?
So after you do a year of Falcon scholarship and still do not make it the following year in SA are your credits transferred to any other civilian college towards a degreeMy DS went to MMI SAP program this year and we could not be happier! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
I would guess so, depending on the school you go to- I know they will at MMI, I don't think so with NWP...but here's the deal: If you get a Falcon, unless you really really eff things up while at a prep school, you are almost guaranteed in to the SA when you apply next. They call it the Golden Ticket for a reason. A Falcon doesn't mean, "no, we don't want you" it pretty much means "Yep, we want you, we just think you need to be a little more prepared before you enter the Academy."So after you do a year of Falcon scholarship and still do not make it the following year in SA are your credits transferred to any other civilian college towards a degreeMy DS went to MMI SAP program this year and we could not be happier! MY DS is really considering this option after touring several colleges. He did apply and has been accepted. So far they have awarded him in state tuition based off his grades and an additional scholarship. They accept applications until June. DS was told after they close the application process for the 2019-2020 class year, they will review his file for additional scholarship assistance. When we visited we were told that all foundation prep students will get an appointment except one student who is being separated due to grades. They have an additional 50 self prep students and they anticipate about 40+ receiving an appointments. I would say there is a very strong chance that if you work hard then you can earn an appointment.Does anyone have a view on attending MMI etc on their own nickel as a Plan B or C to reapply? Or is the scholarship the golden ticket, not attendance?

I am currently at MMI as a self-prep student for USAFA and can say that a lot of the self-preps, including myself, have received appointments. The Service Academy Prep program is a great program and its sole purpose is to get kids into SA's. While the FS is a golden ticket, doing a year at MMI is an excellent plan B and does help your chances of getting in. Additionally, if you are a USAFA self-prep at MMI you will be enrolled in AFROTC at UA so even if you don't receive an appointment you can continue with AFROTC and earn a commission that way.Does anyone have a view on attending MMI etc on their own nickel as a Plan B or C to reapply? Do all 5 offer an equal chance of appointment next year if he successfully completes the program?
