Is anyone aware of which box should be check under type of payment for the fast start direct deposit form and whether or not block 4 needs to be filled out?

Directly from the USMA 2024 instructions packet:

Block 2. Type of Account - X in checking or savings
• Block 3. Direct Deposit Information - Fill in routing number, account number, account holders name, name of financial institution
• Block 4. No action Required

I just love to see attention to detail (junior officer core skill) and leaning in to help someone. 😁
 
In block two theres a box titled Type of Payment with the options: Net Pay, Travel, and Other Federal employment related payments. This isn't mentioned in the cadet instructions nor the privacy statement/instruction page that follows FMS 2231.

I called the office and the two numbers provided for MILITARY PAY, but they didn't pick up. I'll try again tomorrow. I'm sure that checking the wrong box won't end the world, but anyone know the significance of the different options before I call the office again?

Based on the information provided in the instructions from the portal, you leave that part blank.
 
Complete the following:
  • Block 1. Employee Information - Fill in SSN, Employee name, Telephone number
  • Block 2. Type of Account - X in checking or saving
  • Block 3. Direct Deposit Information - Fill in routing number, account number, account holders name, name of financial institution
  • Block 4. No action Required
  • Block 5. Authorization - Employee Signature
(No mention of type of payment = don't touch that section 👍 )

I actually just received an email from them saying to check the net pay box.
