Finding a veteran in the army

This is really off topic and kind of a long shot, but my grandfather was a soldier in the Korean Army and he worked closely with a US Army specialist E-5 around 1965-1966. They were both stationed in an Army base or camp (not sure which, but probably camp) in Incheon, South Korea. My grandpa often tells me stories about him and how they became great friends. He’s also told me that he misses him a lot sometimes and always wanted to get a chance to talk to him. I want to try and connect the two old veterans, so is there any way I could locate/find a phone number or anything of him? I know his last name, rank (at the time, and my grandfather believes he would’ve left the service at this rank), their medical dispensary number and maybe the state he moved to (though my grandpa isn’t sure). Thanks and appreciate any kind of input.

A good first step would be to search obituaries in the state he might have moved to, just in case. Obituaries usually mention age and military service.

Look on social media such as Facebook.

Try various search engines and free White Pages-type sites. You have a name and an approximate age and a possible state.

See the link below on what the Veterans Adminstration can and cannot do. Note the mention of VFW and American Legion reunion services. Go dig through their sites plus AMVETS.

Do searches for Korean War veterans associations and reunion websites.

Nice thought. Good luck.
