If this belongs somewhere else please feel free to move it!

I am having some pain in my left middle finger...was doing the rope climb for PT about a week and a half ago and slipped, grabbed the rope again, and must have done something to the finger.

The finger doesnt hurt unless I try to grip something (ex. tried doing some forearm exercises with one of those hand grip things- couldnt do more than a few). I can put weight on it(i.e. pushups) no problem, and honestly it only gives me trouble when i try to grip something (rope climb, forearm exercise, etc.)

Any idea what this could be? There is no swelling or discoloration in the finger, and from the outside everything looks okay. Maybe a sprain?

    Thanks for the help!

Coming from someone who has broken every finger and dislocated half of them, if you can still move it fairly well and there is no significant swelling it is probably not a big deal, give it a couple weeks and if it hasn't got any better then go see someone.
