For the fingerprints for appointees, would most of you recommend the ink card that USMA sends in the mail, or would it be better to get them done digitally?

The most feasible option for me was to get fingerprinted with local cards (which they did electronically and printed onto a fingerprint card exactly the same as the one that arrived in the mail). This way, I didn't have to wait for the card to come from USMA. I then scanned it and sent it by email, which showed up completed a short while after.

However, I did this because I didn't have easy access to a recruiting station with the ability to send digital fingerprints, so I can't talk about how long that would have taken. If I did, however, I probably would have done them electronically.

For me, I received the fingerprint card from WP and also went to a local government center to electronically scan and print it on the card. I sent the card by mail and it did not take too long because there weren't many people.

Our DS went to the local Army recruiting office. They electronically processed his fingerprints.

There are non-governmental authorized locations that can have fingerprinting services, usually the ones that have notary public services. Some UPS, mortgage companies, etc may accept walk-in for ink-type fingerprinting on cards. Search for one near you and call to confirm. They only have to help you put your prints on the card and sign the card - they are trained to do that and use the correct ink. They don't investigate.
