Anyone hear back from the first board in march? It seems like the results have been delayed. Is it a possibility they come out tomorrow?
I checked twice since 8 am. Nothing as of now. He’s kind at a stand still, his plan B is to attend one of the colleges that accepted him and just use the GI Bill I transferred to him, but he’s very determined to become a Navy Medical Officer (Nurse Option).Nothing in my portal as of 3/14/24 at 9 am.
That’s awesome!! Congrats! My DS is still waiting.got the scholarship in my portal and an email!!
i got an email today! Not my post but from another thread:
‘So, just to be clear, I am retired. And I don't have the access that I used to. Cause I'm retired.
So, anywhoo, a messenger pigeon just flew in to tell me that the Admiral just finished being briefed, and the system is moving along. There are a few more steps to be done....then someonegets the task of building the big email that goes out to people. I'd like to say today, but that's a big ask considering what's left to do. So I will say tomorrow.’
hoping the best for him/herThat’s awesome!! Congrats! My DS is still waiting.
may I ask what schools are at capacity?DS's Scholarship awarded today, 3rd choice school, top two are at capacity. Hard decisions ahead.
My DS didn’t get selected for March board not had received any rejection letter. There’s a board that’s going on right now till the 24th and that will be the last one for this cycle. I believed that by mid April all notification letters will go out to recipients.Did anyone get a rejection notice for the March board yet? I know there have been people who were awarded scholarships, but was there anyone who was explicitly told that they were rejected?
I guess i didn't make this recent board either. Do you know if that means that I wasn't selected and moved to the next or that I simply have not been reviewed yet?My DS didn’t get selected for March board not had received any rejection letter. I wish I can answer that question, I’m hoping my DS get selected this board as well.I guess i didn't make this recent board either. Do you know if that means that I wasn't selected and moved to the next or that I simply have not been reviewed yet?
The board does not send out decline notices after each board...necessarily. Your thinking of it as a pass/fail type board process. It is not really like that. The boards have a certain amount of scholarships to award. That number is X. As the boards progress a "drop"(my term) number starts to be found. The "drop" number is the lowest number a application is awarded to be eligible for a scholarship. They don't know that number really until most of the boards are completed because it is predicated on the awarded scholarships given in previous boards. Some applications may have been boarded 5 boards ago, but the score is close to the "drop" number and it is unclear if they might make it. That is why there will be a big notice int he coming weeks as they will have a idea of what the drop number is.Did anyone get a rejection notice for the March board yet? Thank you for that explanation! The board does not send out decline notices after each board...necessarily. Your thinking of it as a pass/fail type board process. It is not really like that. This is a very simplistic explanation of a more complicated process. That is why you will read people on this forum say "you are still in it until you get awarded or declined".
Is there any info like this for the Marine Board? All results usually go out pretty much at the same time, so they are likely all out. Board dates are below.
2023-2024 Navy ROTC Scholarship Deadline and Board Dates
The Navy ROTC scholarship deadline is January 31, 2024. As per previous years, they boards run every couple of weeks from September to April.rotcconsulting.com
There will likely be a TWE dump in early April of the majority of the applicants that will not have a statistical possibility of being awarded a scholarship. There will be a group of wait listed applicants that will go into late April and maybe into early May. This group will not be large. They are to fulfill the last few available spots. These dates are ballparks, so could be sooner or later.
Most will hear awarded or declined likely within the next 30 days, but just remember. Until you get a notification, you are still eligible for the scholarship. Don't give up yet.
