This might be a silly question, but are there opportunities for students at the USNA who are not athletes (meaning not on the official team) to swim laps, lift weights, workout, etc? DS loves to swim laps for fitness and lifts weights, use machines, etc. at our local Y and I wondered what is available at the school for the non-team members to use? He would love to fit in exercise when he can (yes, I know they are all super busy!) but I can't find any information about what is there for students not doing NCAA sports.

When I visited during CVW, I saw a good sized gym and also a few pools. Don't worry, he should be perfectly fine.

Yes there are plenty of options. Sometimes hours and availability can vary, but if it’s something he enjoys and prioritizes it, yes, it’s all there.

There is typically an open swim period everyday before class, during lunch, and during sports period. There are two weight rooms and one cardio room on the yard open to non-varsity athletes.
