Today is Flag Day and today reminds me of Rick Monday. Rick was a Marine and centerfielder for the Oakland A’s in the late 60’s. The Oakland Coliseum was just up the Nimitz freeway where I caught a couple of games. He eventually was traded. Rick Monday is remembered for this moment more than his baseball career:
