Flight program

Taking a step back towards the posters original question regarding major and flight school:

Some posters may disagree but I don't think it matters that much what your major is vs. the possibilities going pilot or NFO upon graduation. Realistically the Naval Academy is still primarily an engineering school. Obviously any of the group I or II majors are straight up engineering.

That leaves Group III majors, Economics, Political Science, Language, etc. At most other universities these majors are mainly non technical in their course offerings. The Naval Academy is not a typical University. I'm paraphrasing the Director Of Admissions Outreach ; Group III majors at the Academy are in reality "stealth engineers." Most of them have the math and science backgrounds to succeed in an engineering major. For Group III majors engineering just does not excite them as much as other offerings. Group III majors earn that same BS degree due to the core curriculum they have to take; such as 2 semesters chemistry, 3 semesters calculus, physics, EE, and thermodynamics, along with their chosen major.

As several posters have stated; pick your major at the Academy based on what you like and want to succeed at academically and later in life as a career path. Whatever it is do well at it and you are likely to get your service selection choice upon graduation.
