I didn't know there are different deadlines for AFA?
Does AFA have deadlines for Early Decision and Regular Decision just like other civilian colleges?
I don't have the option to pick ED or RD.

It doesn't have anything to do with ED or RD. USAFA gives each candidate a certain amount of time to complete their application. I believe this allows them a better way to process the applications vs. receiving all of them at one time.

Probably also helps to whittle down those truly interested. Many start an application but never finish it. Putting a deadline on it helps to eliminate those who aren't serious or otherwise have changed their mind.

My son’s deadline was based on his precandidate questionnaire and attendance at Summer Seminar I believe. Portal opened a few weeks after returning from that.
