Hello,
Do incoming Freshman in the Army ROTC have any required weeks of preparation/camps? The NROTC has a required 3 weeks at Great Lakes, which I think is fantastic.
I am sure that each University's battalion has some days or week of camp before the school year starts. thank you.

My son has a Navy ROTC Scholarship from 2018. He did not have any training ahead of schedule. He simply reported to school a few days ahead of schedule.

It's in the 2nd? year that NROTC incoming freshman train for 3 weeks in the summer at Great Lakes! I think it's terrific for Marines.

They do Sea Trials or a Sea Cruise. At this point, this has not been finalized for mine.

The Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M has an extremely fun week planned for all incoming "fish". It is aptly name FOW-fish Orientation Week, and I remember it being one of the more joyful weeks of my young life (up to that point). I'm sure a lot has changed since I headed off to College Station, but something tells me it's still a bit of an "eye-opener" for the young folks entering the Corps.

AROTC doesn't have a preparation camp/week.

All the more reason to show up in shape and being well prepared in ALL the elements of the APFT or whatever it is now called. My DS had his contracting delayed by two months over 5 push ups deemed "incorrect" by an AROTC upperclassman administering the test. He eventually got his stipend and tuition paid, but missed an opportunity since he was not "contracted" by the deadline.

Congratulations and Best of Luck to DS!
