From Waitlist to this??

Thank you for posting this thread. When my DD was at NASS last year, someone told us she would not get a NAPS/foundation offer because her grades/scores were too high. She was put on the NWL in April and just a couple days ago the head coach contacted her to let her know she received a NAPS offer. She is a recruited athlete with a nomination, and this appears to be a way to get her in since she did not win a congressional/senatorial slate. She initially said that she didn't want to spend the next year "spinning her wheels" at NAPS. We have done some research, and we are learning together that is definitely not the intention. She was also told that she could test out/validate several classes potentially and work on classes toward an advanced degree in her final year of USNA. It appears to be a great opportunity. She only has a couple days to make this decision, as we were out of the country last week when the offer arrived.

IMHO if she wants to be an officer this is a great option.
