Yes. Ominously some predict that China will have the ability to successfully invade Taiwan by around 2026, the year my DS will commission. I keep having visions of him being incinerated by a Chinese hypersonic missile below decks in an Arleigh Burke Class destroyer.

I would hope that we can put together a global coalition to put economic pressure on China to avoid war. (Although, ironically, economic pressure on Japan is what forced Japan to attack us in 1941.) So who knows what will happen.

As someone who was born in China and was adopted to live in the Untied States, it's very frustrating to see what they are doing to my home. As much I respect my birth town's rich culture and history, it is hard to look past the actions of its government.
