Hello all,

I'm Kevin currently a rook 30 some days out from recognition in Norwich University. I am also in the National Guard going to OSUT this summer and transfering back to IL for fall semester...

I am going to apply to West Point while back in school in IL still doing MSII for ROTC, and get a interstate transfer to the IL guard and SMP once back...should I apply to USMA as a National Guardsman or have better chances as a civillian?

Anywho, greetings. I will definitely researching my butt off here...

Welcome to SAF, WickGuardsman! I'm a "newbie" on the USMA Field Force and don't know the answer to your question. I would re-post your question on the USMA forum.

The individual I work with for the WP AoG preps is the same person who handles Soldier Accessions. Give him a call and see if you can get an answer "straight from the horse's mouth". Here is his email signature block:

I would also like to say that WP is not the only federal service academy that commissions Army officers. Have you ever considered the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings point , NY?

Call LT Gaultieri at the USMMA Admissions office (516-726-5647). She handles the VT candidates.

Thanks for the warm reception...I will also post in the USMA section and read up and get high speed.

NMMI, thanks for the great points of contact, as it is MUCH appreciated...I'll let you know if anything interesting comes up. Again, thanks.
