Doing research on GS jobs is fairly new to us. I was looking online at USAjobs and elsewhere for possible job titles, openings, and salary estimates. What's available for aviators or at least for younger senior officer retiring? So far, from what I'm seeing, it seems like the great salaries are mainly for the medical community or human resources.

Also, do you need to work at least 10 years in order to receive additional retirement benefits? How does that work? Thank you in advance.

No need to duplicate posts on here; people roam freely. I responded to your other one at length.

I'm new here. I'm sorry about that. How can I delete this? I'm sorry. I thought it was separate enough with one focusing on GS jobs and the other with career conferences. I thought one would be focused on the private sector and the other government, etc. I think I'm used to focusing on targeted things with the way our business zeroes in on specific threads for projects we work on. I'm not a forum expert. I'll keep searching around the tabs to try to figure out how to delete it. If I don't, any tips would be helpful. :)

Don’t worry about it. You can usually edit/delete for a set amount of time after you post. Once that expires, you can’t.

Officers in transition should focus on a cohesive strategy, in which USAJOBS is one of the target markets, along with, say, airlines, DOD contractors, non-profits, each with its own tactical approach. I know a CDR aviator who just retired, went to the airlines, couldn’t be happier. Your DH no doubt knows some; it’s worth starting networking now.
