GTMO Debate; your thoughts.

Ah, finally, Indexer mixes same race in there...."only angry white people".....

If you look at the voter demographic, it was those "old angry white people" who crossed the "racial lines" and voted not on skin color, but for the person. Race matters to the Democrats, which is why they constantly bring it up.

I think what goes WELL OVER Indexers head is the objections to policy that most Republicans have....using tax payer money to assist organizations that promote abortion, increased tax payer support for organizations involved in voters fraud liks acorn, the nationalization of banks and car companies, the cutting of defense spending despite increased tensions with Russia, Iran, China and North Korea, the closing of GTMO despite bipartisan discomfort with a lack of a plan, the nationalization of healthcare, increased spendng, the possibility of increased taxes to "offset" the reckless spending, weak foreign policy, etc. All of that could have easily been done by a white person as a black person.

It has nothing to do with race, it's policy, and every time liberals bring up race as an excuse....it diminishes what his presidency means. At some point you're going to have to just see an American President, and not a "black man", sitting in that President's chair.

Did you watch the links? The rednecks at the McCain-Palin campaign are the ones who injected race into it.

Race is completely irrelevant to our society. It's not like we ever had racial segregation:rolleyes:

nationalization of banks and car companies

Wait, who first passed the bailout for the banks and lent billions to the car companies? Um, oh yeah BUSH

increased spendng...e cutting of defense spending

Spoken like a true knucle-dragger. Complaining about too much spending and asking for more defense spending, the largest discretionary item in the budget

Bush ran up the deficit more than all 42 presidents who preceded him.

Where were the protests when Bush was doing the bailouts or running up the spending?

Face it. When people, start yelling he's a MUSLIM, the blacks are going to take over, he wasn't born in America, you're right, their just generously concerned about the National Debt  Time to look in the mirror at the party of George Allen and Lee Atwater and Trent Lott.

I've been against the bailouts since the beginning. It's apparent we have a very different understanding of the federal government's role, is it the basic defense of the nation or taking state powers? What's great is, WAY BACK, Thomas Jefferson was questions for the Louisiana Purchase because it was unconstitutional, and NOW the federal government is buy private companies. Yes there WAS racial segregation. On top of that, whites were indentured servants, and even further back, slaves as well. At some point we're going to have to move past that (and yes, that would mean that the NAACP would no longer be needed.

As usual dodging, where was ONE conservative protest when Bush ran up spending, including being the first President in history to cut taxes and go to war . Where was ONE protest when Bush bailed everyone out?

If we need to move on, why were there so many people at McCain-Palin rallies hurling racial ethnicities and slurs about Obama's background.

Bitter angry old white men who can't stand the fact a black guy is President

I may be mistaken, but isn't the chairmen of the Republican committee an African American?

Wait, who first passed the bailout for the banks and lent billions to the car companies? Um, oh yeah BUSH

Who sat on the BOD of Freddie Mac when Bubba Clinton encouraged all lending rules be revised to allow unqualified borrowers to get mortgages they couldn't afford, leading to the need for a bank bailout?

Oh, that was Rahm Emmanuel, President Obama's CoS, who was asleep at the switch while a Director of Freddie Mac. Ironically, he was paid over $300,000 for his short 14-month stay.

Not to mention his role in one of biggest accounting scandals ever at the lending institution? The accounting tricks to push profits into future years to appear profitable in coming years?

And who played a huge part in the record $3.8M fine from the Federal Election Commission for their (Freddie Mac's) role in illegal Democratic fundraising using the corporate assets of FM? He even benefited from that fundraising, winning a Congressional seat by using his ill-gotten gains!

The truth is out their for those who wish to shed their blue (and red) sunglasses.

And right on time, Luigi comes in time to parrot the talking points of the Limbaugh-angry white man conservative AXIS.

when Bubba Clinton encouraged all lending rules be revised to allow unqualified borrowers to get mortgages they couldn't afford, leading to the need for a bank bailout?

Translation : The Democrats gave loans to the poor people, especially those poor non-white folks, who destroyed America.

Except there is zero empirical evidence to prove it.

However, others dispute the involvement of the CRA in the subprime crisis. San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Governor Randall Kroszner has stated that the claim that "the law pushed banking institutions to undertake high-risk mortgage lending" was contrary to their experience, and that no empirical evidence had been presented to support the claim. In a Bank for International Settlements (BIS) working paper, economist Luci Ellis concluded that "there is no evidence that the Community Reinvestment Act was responsible for encouraging the subprime lending boom and subsequent housing bust," relying partly on evidence that the housing bust has been a largely exurban event.

Some legal and financial experts note that CRA regulated loans tend to be safe and profitable, and that subprime excesses came mainly from institutions not regulated by the CRA. In the February 2008 House hearing, law professor Michael S. Barr, a Treasury Department official under President Clinton,[64][108] stated that a Federal Reserve survey showed that affected institutions considered CRA loans profitable and not overly risky. He noted that approximately 50% of the subprime loans were made by independent mortgage companies that were not regulated by the CRA,

Unqualified borrowers are not white? What are you talking about? Who is "Limbaugh" and why is he/she a part of this discussion?

Let me ask a better question - indexer, why are you here?

Six posts, all trolling in the off-topic section.

Not one post about a Service Academy.

No questions.

No answers.

You're a troll, I'm done with you.

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion."

Waiting for empirical evidence that CRA loans are the cause of the crisis....

I was alerted to this site by a friend who was noticing a lot of the hate, anti-Obama rhetoric spewing from a site that was supposed to discuss military academies. (The Commander in Chief).

Are the admissions websites aware of this site and the political agenda of people like you who are pretending to run the show?

Of course, Idexer skips over the Steele comment.

I didn't realize the Kool-Aid was on tap here. Interesting, Indexer's ONLY posts are on this thread, never before comments, but then saying "as usual". Have you been here before Indexer?

i SKIPPED OVER the steele comment because a bright person would see how dumb it is.

1. It was a vote among party insiders, not the broad conservative republican electorate
2, The angry conservatives like limbaugh have harassed steele, at one point Limbaugh told him to resign.

3. The second-place vote getter to head the RNC, a man named Katon Dawson, a person who became a Republican because he was mad that his school was being desegregated (I am not making this up) is organizing to knock him out.

Cop out!

Folks- any more name calling and this thread is shut down. Won't be any more warnings.
