Guitars at USNA?

Hey guys, my parents got me a guitar for graduation...a sweet little acoustic. We were wondering when, or if, I'd be allowed it at USNA. I will be a plebe this summer.

PS can't wait for I-day!

You'll be allowed to have instruments once the ac year starts. Don't bring it to I day, have your parents bring it to parent's weekend or something.

My S kept his guitar (and amp) at his sponsor's house until about midway through Plebe year, when he felt comfortable bringing it to Bancroft.

My parents mailed my my guitar at the end of plebe summer -- the detailers all make a huge deal about me receiving such a large package and made sure that there wasn't any contraband or anything packed inside of it.

PS can't wait for I-day!

If you can't wait for I-day, I suggest you . . .

• start waking up every day at 5:30 am
• Work out for 3 hours before breakfast
• Ask your parents to yell at you over breakfast continually
• Ask you parents to yell at you during other meals continually
• Put on a long sleeved shirt and trousers and run around in a sauna
• Don't wash the outfit you ran around in the sauna in and wear it a lot
• Cut all soda, chips, sweets out of your diet
• Cut the cord to your TV, drop your computer in dumpster, drop your iPhone down a well

Not trying to rain on your parade, it's good to be fired up for Plebe Summer. But as has been said many times before on this board, try to savor your senior year and all the luxuries of civilian life (while still running/doing pullups/doing leg lifts/doing pushups). I-day will arrive soon enough.
