I was told that it was bad luck for an officer to stand on or walk over them, so I never did.
It could have all been hooey, but pilots pay attention to stuff like that.

Is it true the Commandant established Veteran's Day on November 11 to give you a day to recover from Birthday festivities ?

(I know, I know, its got something to do with the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th month, but if my history is correct, you guys did have some input into the timing of the end of World War I !),

I thought I read somewhere that Army or USMC was using pack mules for Afghanistan operations --more reliable for high altitude operations than helos.

As an aside, does anyone know what Army has the Mule and Navy has the Marine Corps ? A: Army got first pick !
