My son was diagnosed with Hashimotos at age 9. He is now 17 and a rising sr in high school. He is within a few weeks of earning his private pilots licenses and is interested in AFROTC. Anyone have experience with how the DoDMERB feels about hypothyroidism?
thanks.

DoDI6130.03 indicates "Current hypothyroidism (244) Individuals with two normal thyroid stimulating hormone tests within the preceding 6 months DOES meet the standard." http://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/dodi/613003p.pdf

oh you are good! I looked for some documentation or previous decisions but am very new to this. Having difficulty maneuvering. Appreciate the information.

What if you have the two normal tests but on the other hand have two nodules (one on each side) of the thyroid? Will they ask for that documentation or will the TSH tests suffice. Mine are so small my DR said that I will be observed in six months. Thats why my TSH came normal.
