Haven't Heard Anything After the Preliminary Application

I submitted my preliminary application on April 8th, and I still haven't heard anything back yet. I'm definitely on the USNA email list as they've sent me some promotional emails, but nothing about proceeding with the application process. The only reason I think it is concerning is that I was updated to candidate status for USAFA almost immediately. I just would have thought I'd hear something by now I guess. Might just be overreacting.

I remember seeing something about hearing back later in the summer - can't remember exactly when it was supposed to be, but I don't think we're supposed to have heard anything yet. (I haven't either.)

I saw an email from Admissions the other day, assignment of Candidate Numbers and opening of the Application has not occurred yet. It was supposed to open last week- unsaid, and speculation on my part, they are trying to patch some of the software complaints that occurred last year. (For those new this year -- USNA launched a whole new Admissions platform last year and there were some growing pains. My recollection is that the Application was opened early /mid June last year). I know all the Candidates are eager to get started, but be patient -- this is a marathon, not a sprint. Again, pure speculation on my fault, but I would expect to see the Application open in the next few weeks.

My ds just got an email from his state admissions counselor stating that it would be opening in a few weeks.

Let me be the first to give you good news.
You are going to be "promoted" to candidate status.
.
As was the case last year, USNA is elevating all potential candidates to full candidate status (candidate number and portal access). The date that it will happen is yet to be announced but it is going to happen.
