Haven't received any contact for DodMERB

Hello. I submitted my candidate kit for USAFA on October 1st. I have been incredibly worried because I have not received any contact from DodMERB yet. I have already contacted admissions but is there anything else I can do?

Hello, new member of 26 minutes, and welcome.

USAFA has to make your file available to DoDMERB to trigger the process. Did Admissions tell you if your file had been electronically made available to DoDMERB?

If you skim this DoDMERB forum, you will see the DoDMERB site has been suffering from outages and tech difficulties. They will work through the backlog and you will get something, never fear, if your file has been activated with them.

In the meantime, you can try going to the DoDMETS.com website and trying the new user log-in there. If your file is in the system, you should be able to get in. DoDMETS coordinates the physical exam process.

You are not in danger of missing an application deadline. The DoDMERB process can extend into the spring. Just keep up with actions and deadlines you are responsible for.

Yes, pretty much. For USMMA once academic info is uploaded and I believe teacher evaluations are complete, DoDmerb is triggered.

My daughter happened to be emailing back and forth with an admissions officer and he told her she had what she needed completed and sent her a link to dodmets. After that, she proceeded as Capt MJ references above and created a logon, etc. She saw USMMA listed in there and then other academies populated as well once their requirements were met.

According to the Office of Admission email and the USMMA Candidate Instruction, USMMA will request DodMERB after you submit Part 1 of the application, Transcript, SAT/ACT, and CFA.

oh eye - FWIW, They let my daughter’s dodmets fly nearly 2 months before she took her CFA. She’s a recruited athlete so maybe they figured her CFA would be fine as it’s a Pass/Fail at USMMA and should be relatively easy for most anyone who’s athletic. Just speculating.

Word of advice, my daughter found the USMMA admissions officers to be very responsive, so be sure you’re establishing a relationship with yours. Simply emailing a question about something led to many warm exchanges through the process. She kept him updated on how her app was progressing and he proactively sent her the dodmets link and told her to register. She never even received whatever email is supposed to automatically trigger. Maybe it would’ve taken CFA completion for that to happen.

My daughter is in the home stretch. Her nomination package for one MOC was hand delivered today. All other nominations applications were online. Just need to get her medical status updated once DoDMERB comes back online. Then I guess it is sit and wait.

I share the same question as Robert9302 and just wanted to confirm that it was alright I emailed you. My AO at the CGA let me know what submissions prompt the sending of my file to DoDMERB and I fulfilled all requirements several weeks ago so I just wanted to see what my status was.

It was probably CFA completion. My AO at the CGA told me that their DoDMERB submission triggers after the general application, a recommendation from a guidance counselor, and PFE scores were submitted. The CGA does operate a little differently from other SAs though
