Hi! I am a cadet at USAFA and I have been diagnosed with PMDD since early 2020. In the meantime, I have been taking an SSRI (Prozac) and it has literally changed my life for the better. Unfortunately, Prozac isn't one of the 5 accepted SSRIs to receive a flight waiver before graduating.
I have a couple options:
1) I can stop taking my medicine, but I remember what my life was like before that and it was terrible
2) I can switch to one of the accepted SSRIs but I won't be able to do any airmanship for 6 months
3) I keep taking my medicine and risk not getting a flight waiver when I do my graduation physical
I haven't been able to find any community of women in the Air Force with PMDD. Please help me find someone to talk to that understands what I'm going through. I keep looking on the internet for literature on flying with SSRIs or flying with PMDD and I can't find anything.
