I had a hernia when I was 4 or 5 years old and got it repaired. It's been over a decade and I haven't had any reoccuring issues. Will this disqualify me during the medical examination?

As a parent of a DS who was DODMERB qualified last year, I can provide his experience, by no means am I an expert 😉. He had an inguinal hernia fixed @ age 10 weeks. Man, did I stress about that as we couldn’t get any paperwork on it. His surgeon moved onto bariatric surgeries & the hospital only kept records for 10 years. Needless to say, it was reported on the form & was a total non-issue. I’m sure the Dr. checked pretty good to make sure there are no longer any issues. Funny thing - scratches on his arm from an upset opponent in basketball is what caused the AMI 😬.

My son had a hernia operation at 4 years old. He reported it on his medical quesionaire, the doctor asked about it and it never came up again. Now he's dealing with the wrist surgery he had 2 years ago!
