Hello everyone, if you're reading this, thank you for your time. I guess you could categorize me as a "hopeful", but I've decided that my duty to our great country is the next step in this life. I'm here seeking advice, answers, and anything you all think would be beneficial. I recently turned 20, have graduated high school, I also have some college experience, although not much. I've played sports all of my life which include baseball, football, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, as well as other recent sports like skateboarding, dirt biking, and so on. I like to believe I have good work ethic, although I don't want to swell my already big head. I live to learn and benefit my quality of life. Again, any advice or input would be much appreciated. I will try my best to take heed to any advice given, and at the least keep it as a different way of viewing things. And I repeat, thank you all for your time, I look forward to being in touch. God bless. Sincerely yours, Frank.

Welcome to the forums. What direction are you thinking in terms of military service? It's hard to give any advice without some idea of where you want to go. You probably want to remove your real name from any posts, also. (I already edited your first post to remove the last name.)

Gokings814 and Stealth_81, thank you both. In regards to your question Stealth, I'm still in the process of trying to fully understand everything, and learn what my options may be. I'm focused primarily on joining the AF. I have a couple of good friends who have served and are helping to guide me in the right direction

Hi Tank,
Can you narrow your interests down a little more?

Are you seeking to be an officer or enlisted? If you wish to be an officer, is your goal to become a pilot?
Also, note the perspective of your friends in the AF. If they are enlisted, they will be limited in their knowledge of USAFA or AFROTC and being an officer. If they are officers, then they will less likely to give you as much info on life as a E-3 airman.
