Hello,

I am a rising sophomore from Alabama, and I am interested in USMA, USNA, and USAFA. I am an E rated fencer, and I have been taught how to armor. I am an Eagle Scout and within my troop I am a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. Outside of Fencing and Scouts, I volunteer at my local library, and I play the Highland Bagpipes. In school, I enjoy math and science (with the possible exception of Biology). I have been on the site for a while, but I did not use my account for a while.

Neither. Rock Chalk and Go Frogs (but if I had to choose, Roll Tide).

You can start attending any service academy info sessions held by Senators and your Representative, and read up on their websites about their SA nomination processes.

You can dive into detailed reading of the SA websites, as well as research officer specialty areas.
You’ll find things such as:

You can build out your timeline of milestones and action items, so you will be well prepared when your cycle opens in the late spring of 2026.

Perfect timing for a research and prep phase.

Study all your paths forward (ie look into the various ROTC channels) as well as the full spectrum of services and academies (investigate USCGA and USMMA) and all possible nomination sources to ensure that you understand every route to your goal. You're reaching for a very tough brass ring and the odds are long, so have a solid Plan B and C and D in hand. Stay out of trouble, prep for your standardized tests, keep taking the tough courses, and enjoy your high school years. You can always be busy, but the options for fun diminish over the years so grab what you can while the window is open.

I definitely have. I have a couple other colleges I am looking at as alternative options, but I have started attending the info sessions and I have put together a timeline for when I need to fulfill certain milestones (taking the ACT, Opening application, etc.)
