Hold Status

Hi;
I'm new here.My son received hold/wait list letter from Capt. Johnson this past week. His application is complete. Has anyone heard what chances/odds he may have to gain an appointment? If not, does anyone know if anyone on the hold lst receives appointments to NMMI? Any information would be a great help. I went to law school so this process has been a great adventure for the both of us.

Sorry, harris2dog, but there really is no way of knowing. I can imagine the waiting game is excruciating, but hang in there and good luck!
 
my son was on hold until it changed on May 8th.... :eek:

yeah, we had a back up plan in place, and I had already paid the back up plan's deposit too. :thumb:

Then we used bubble wrap until the beginning of July to keep him safe from himself. :shake:
 
Ugh I'll join this "hold party" as well. Its been like that since the beginning of December for me. O well fingers crossed best of luck to you all!
 
Does anyone know how the "hold candidates" are ranked?

At least it isn't a "no thank you" letter! :smile:He's got two of those from SA's so far. My son got his USMMA "Hold Candidate" letter yesterday. I was encouraged that it says he is still competing for admission and should send in significant acheivements. Does anyone know how the "hold candidates" are ranked? :confused:
 
Status Options after 'HOLD"

What are the other status options after HOLD?
 
On Hold

On hold since December - I have not recievied a TWE but would like to know status either way at this point. Will the on-line status change before you recieve the TWE or the BFE?
 
Have any of holds called admissions yet to inquire about any possible issues with the status?
 
what are the chances of making into the class of 2014 if you received a letter of assurance, but was rescinded because of an abscess I had during my exam? I got disqualified on April 14th and notified on April 17th...
 
"Offer Extended" on DODMERB screen

Does anyone know the significance, if any,is of this. We called DODMERB to check that his exams were sent to the NROTC regiment at SUNY Maritime . The agenst advises that next to the USMMA entry it states, "offer extended". Still no word or update from USMMA nor on the Web Candidate portal. Any information would be appreciated. We're all kind of hanging through this together.

Spoke to admissions yesterday. I was advised the appoinyments are full up with a near record number of qualified applicants on hold. The USMMA is not necessarily purging the hold list just yet.. They are waiting on their appointees responses with other service academies & that may effect whether the USMMA can offer further appointments. Keep the faith & don't let plan B go by the wayside. If you've qualified for the wait list at USMMA, your plan B cannot be too shabby.

Are you calling your admissions officer? They have their jobs divided by region and mine is readily available & very accomodating. No word yet. 2 weeks ago I was told that the majority of the list was being purged & that they are holding on to a few holds in the event spaces shake free.We could possibly hear this week becuse the final decision on the fate of the holds rests with Captain Johnson, who was out of town through Memorial Day. Keep the faith and good luck if you're still hanging in there.
