Any homeschooled applicants out there? What do you do about the English and math teacher recommendations if your mom was your English and math teacher? Should other recommendations from outside sources (Boy Scouts, Sea Cadets, etc.) Be mailed to USNA?

I'm a homeschooler. Actually, I did dual enrollment, but school policy was against recommendations for "untraditional" students. I was informed to just send in non-teacher recommendations. But I was wondering if USNA would get upset if I sent in a coach's letter in place of a math teachers. Best way is to contact the academy. If there is any questioning, have your son call admissions and ask them. They probably get that question a lot more than you think.

I'm not sure what to do if your homeschooled child is already a junior, but what I heard recommended was enroll your child in a math and english course at your local community college if possible, or take an AP course at a local school if offered.
