To me, the parade is "meh" but its a tremendous big deal to many.

Prades are pretty cool the first time you see it...after that, not so much

@Love4monsters, plebes can go swimming during PPW, as long as they’re wearing regulation plebe swimsuits. Because they must be in uniform at all times in public. As in, no sneaking down to the hotel snack shop in civilian shorts and shirt.

As for the parade, I believe they’re always cool if your mid is in it. Wouldn’t go out of my way to see one, mind you, but if on the Yard anyway and your mid is in it, why not?

We went early, to get a seat on the bleachers. Sat in the hot, humid sun and watched out plebe in the middle back through binoculars to get our first glimpse of him since Iday. We were sure he also saw us. It was amazing. They marched around in full display in front of us (quite quickly) and we videotaped him, took down the binoculars as they were close. It was SO great to FINALLY SEE HIM!! So proud.

Guess what? He wasn’t in the parade. Plebes really do all look the same.

LOL - DW was watching a USNA video for NASS, using some footage shot from last year's sessions and she swore up and down that DS was in one scene. DS insisted it wasn't him and that "everybody looks like me".
