DS was very fortunate to receive a NROTC scholarship last year. His dream has been to attend the USNA. He was rejected last year, but this year he reapplied and was accepted. Yeah! he is super excited.
My question is, at what point is the scholarship sacrificed? Is it when he accepts the appointment or when he swears in on I day? Being a nervous Momma I know the bubble wrap could slip so I don't want to let go of it too soon. His NROTC unit knows he is not planning on returning. Does he need to write a letter of withdrawal, and if so is it best not mailed until I day?
