How do you know if you are 3Q?/Official Correspondence

Right now, everything is complete for me including my nomination. I've been reading that people have letters that are 3Q'd. Where are you finding those updates? Are they under official correspondence? Also, what do you guys have under your official correspondence right now? I think I'm in the "hurry up and wait" phase, but I'd like to know some other input. Thank you all and good luck!

What is a 3Q'd? I've seen the term but never understood it. I have everything submitted (excluding nomination) and the only official correspondence I have is a letter of encouragement.

I got a PDF in the official correspondence on my portal maybe a week after I completed and submitted everything which is titled "Candidate File Qualified". It was from my Regional Commander and read that Admissions has found me academically, physically, and medically qualified and was waiting on a nomination to consider me. I assume this PDF was them notifying me I'm 3Q'd. My nomination isn't in my portal yet so all I have for correspondence is that PDF still.

3Q'd means you are academically, physically, and medically qualified. Also, is your letter of encouragement titled letter of encouragement or something else?

Files are not reviewed chronologically. If you have all green checks, the only thing you can do is keep reviewing the portal to make sure the checks stay green, update your file as necessary, work on nomination, and wait.

Ok, interesting. Thank you for letting me know! If you don't mind, what region are you in? I heard that some RC's do things differently.

Got it. I passed my CFA, am cleared medically, and my academics are good. The exact title of the PDF I received is "LETTER OF ENCOURAGEMENT (PDF, 11/02/2020)". I got it the day I submitted my CFA.

My FFR told me I was 3Q'D around a month ago and I haven't received a letter about this. Under my official correspondence is my LOA and the noncommittal letter. I think it depends on your region for if you receive a 3Q'D letter because, like you said, each RC may do things differently.

Green check marks have been known to change color!
Happened to DS. His CFA was no longer green check mark because they created an additional requirement. This was when they first initiated video uploads of pull-ups and pushups. It was a surprise for DS checking portal for any appointment announcement and then he saw a new requirement!
Keeps things interesting for the months of waiting............

DS received a 3Q letter today (qualified academically, medically and physically). It states that they are still waiting on a nomination before they can consider him for an appointment. DS is in the game again! Hoping 3rd time is a charm...

Hello, I am an applicant to West Point for the class of 2025. I just did my interview with the MOC panel and awaiting nomination. I received and LOE (not LOA) from West Point a couple months ago. Does receiving an LOE mean anything special?

Take an LOE as exactly what it is - USMA likes what it sees so far and encourages the applicant to finish the application. Many others probably received it, but if it encouraged you to complete your application, it did its job.

I believe in non-COVID times, an LOE got you an overnight visit, but I will leave it to others with direct knowledge to respond.

You posted this same question in another thread. No need to dupe posts, the community here is responsive.

Your job now is to wait, and then wait some more. Tend alternate plans. PT. Enjoy the here and now with friends and family.

I'm confused about what an LOE means if you were already 3Q+nom when receiving it?

Everyone's appointment comes at different times... when everyone else gets theirs is practically irrelevant. Stay strong and wait it out!
