How long to take CFA to change from yellow to green?

Good morning! I'm writing as a parent who is wondering how long it will take a CFA to turn from Yellow check to Green check? One video had to be resubmitted with better whole view. It and the other video needed are checked. Everything checked except the CFA. The other academies have received the CFA and DS passed. In the process for DoDMerB done for the others but USMA hasn't opened that either. Contacted our FFR and he said he would speak to USMA admissions to get them going. He also just received a MOC for each one including USMA. I'm just concerned that they haven't updated his application site at all for the past 3 weeks. Advice appreciated.

It took at least a month for my ds's CFA to turn green even after both videos were reviewed and accepted. I wouldn't worry about it as long as your videos have green checks.

There is an initial review and then a full review by DPE (Department of Physical Education). That second review can take quite a while this time of year through the end of the admissions period. Last year, some people were reporting waits of 2 months. Those videos are looked at closely by DPE. The first level review may have caught your DS the first time because it was missing the whole view. In that circumstance, they likely have not been seen by DPE at all yet. Good luck. Patience is needed. But, his slate won't be determined (unless he is not competitive) until his CFA is completed/reviewed so despite the long wait, he should not be concerned.

It’s getting to be peak season for data input at all the SAs. None of them have armies of staff to update applicant records, but trust they are working steadily at class-building activities. No sense in comparing to other SA progress - they all slice and dice the applicant pool as they see fit. The portal is simply an outward-facing convenience window for the applicant; Admissions can see everything they want to, including access to DoDMERB results, as needed. Generations of applicants had no portal to watch, and had to wait, wait, and wait some more for an offer or declination to come by U.S. mail. Delegate all the waiting anxiety to your DS and simply enjoy this time. If he gets his wish, you have 7 months before he leaves, and after that, he will visit you at home for short periods at greater intervals, for at least the next 9 years. Do your best to let it go and leave checking on things to him. This is going to go on for months into 2022.

Thank you for the reminder. I myself work in higher education, but this process has been beyond my ken in so many ways. Makes me feel empathy for all first-generation people in college. Thank you to all for the advice!

DD submitted her CFA at the end of June. The check turned green on 11/15. Took a long time! It was definitely hard to be patient waiting for that color change.

Last year, I submitted my videos in early October and didn't a green check until mid March. Reapplying this year and submitted my CFA at about the same time. Hoping it's quicker this year but my advice to all is to carry on with you life and let the review process happen. Probably wasted too much time checking the portal last year.
