How to Re-Take the CFA?

Hey Community,

well, I took my CFA today after months of preparation and was very pleased with my results. I scored above average in all areas, and maxed two, but I literally ran the worst mile of my life. It was a nice toasty 108 degrees here in Tucson, AZ and the wind was against me. That mile time number haunts me since I can typically run a mile in about 5:50.

So how exactly do I go about finding a way to re-take the CFA. I hear some RC's allow for re-takes while others don't. So I'm going to call first thing Monday. However, I'm applying to a couple other academies and was wondering if I can take the CFA for one of those academies and have those newer, and definitely better, CFA results forwarded to USMA?

Thanks,
Kevin

What was your mile time (keep in mind an average mile on the CFA is around 6:40)? Did you pass? Because if you did then I don't think the mile time will be anything to worry about. However, if you did not, the admissions board will decide whether or not they feel you are qualified enough to retest.

It was 8:00 flat. I felt so horrible because I know I can run much faster than that, I'm on my school's X-country team and on varsity track so at least that says something. But it was quite hot, i got really dizzy afterward but regained shortly after.

Btw, any advice on taking the CFA for another academy then having those results forwarded to WP? would they simply replace the scores?

... I will make sure to check the forecast next time :p

Ohh yeah... I'm not sure 8:00 is passing. Anyway, onto resolving the problem. Trying the CFA for another academy and then forwarding scores can't hurt. It's worth a shot. You might also express your desire for a retest to your RC so he knows you're one of those candidates who's chomping at the bit.
