Just got an LOA this morning from USNA. Super happy and very excited.

I want to notify my MOC but I cannot view the letter in my portal. It says under "Admissions application" "Status: USNA - Conditional Offer (LOA)" but when I click review it just shows me my application and not the letter. How do I access the LOA?

Congrats!!

Maybe it’s a timing thing? As in, give everything a minute to catch up? The day just started, it could be that the letter hasn’t been loaded yet.

You could also hop on Admissions chat function 💬 when it opens, if you don’t see your letter populate. I understand the excitement!

Had this "issue" last year - there is no actual letter in the portal, just the notification through email. I think you do get one in the mail but I can't remember (I only remember getting my BFE in the mail)

How long did it take you to get the BFE after the LOA?

Mine took two weeks but it obviously depends on your situation. For me I think it was relatively quick since the only thing I had left to fulfill my LOA was my medical waiver getting approved so once that went through my LOA turned into a full appointment on the portla

Did you already have a nom? All my nom sources don't release results until late December/early January so I'm afraid I might have to wait awhile before I can start to truly celebrate.

Make sure you apply for all noms that you are eligible for, including VP. I also recall there is a color/honor guard JROTC nom (I’m not up on that, but a couple years ago there was an LOA holder, without a nom, and admissions was working with her within this unique nom source), for those that qualify.

And, as always, continue to ensure your Plan B’s are solid.

I had a nom (my LOA came in January, nom results were around Christmas time) but I also remember LOAs being handed out in a different fashion last year since pretty much everyone received an LOA before receiving their full appointment (sort of as a placeholder for the full appointment if that makes sense). No idea if that will be the same this year but if you ever have any more questions just PM me!

My son received his letter the next day after it showed in his portal.
